Privacy policy
In short: Klaromo asks for no account, shows no ads and sends no scan data over the internet. Everything the app reads from your car stays on your phone.
Who we are
Klaromo is published by WeBel Design, Meise, Belgium. Contact: contact@klaromo.com.
Data stored on your phone
Klaromo stores only on your device:
- your cars (VIN, make, the name you give them);
- your scans (error codes, emissions test status, battery voltage, date);
- the last Bluetooth adapter used, your language and settings;
- a technical log of exchanges with the adapter, used to troubleshoot failed connections.
This data is neither sent to WeBel Design nor shared with anyone. Delete a car in Settings (its scans go with it), or uninstall the app, to erase it.
Permissions
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth): to connect to your OBD2 adapter. Nothing else.
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only): required by Android to search for Bluetooth devices. Klaromo never reads your position.
- Internet: only for the subscription through Google Play.
Klaromo Plus subscription
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. WeBel Design never receives your name, email address or payment details. To fight fraud, the app sends Google an anonymous identifier specific to the installation. Data processed by Google is governed by Google's privacy policy. You can cancel anytime in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions.
Sending to your mechanic
“Send to my mechanic” prepares a text and opens it in the app of your choice (WhatsApp, email…). You send it; Klaromo sends it to no one.
Children
Klaromo is intended for adult drivers and does not knowingly collect data about minors.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can write to us at contact@klaromo.com. As we hold no data about you, the app's data is managed directly on your phone. You may also contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its update date.
